Name
Angela Cardy
Job Role
Extra Time Programme Lead
Length of time you have worked at MitC
A month and a half.
What are your main responsibilities
Assisting in the planning and delivery of the Extra Time Programme across 3 primary schools in Inverclyde.
Most mornings are spent planning and attending meetings for Extra Time, either from home or the office. Where possible, I also support other MitC programmes, such as Off The Bench. From Monday to Thursday, I deliver the Extra Time Programme in local primary schools from 3–5pm. I also coach the MitC Neurodiverse Team on Tuesday evenings and run a session at The Hive’s BASK after-school club on Fridays.
What are the best bits of working at MitC
Building positive relationships with the children who regularly attend Extra Time and seeing the programme’s impact on their personal growth are some of the best parts of my job. It’s also great to be working in and around Cappielow with the MitC staff, who are a fantastic team to be part of.
What has been your biggest success in your role so far
I’m still relatively new to the role, but my biggest success so far has been getting the Extra Time Programme up and running. The children have really enjoyed the sessions, and we’ve had around 40–50 participants attending each week since the programme launched in October.
What are you looking forward to over the next 12 months
Over the next 12 months, I’m looking forward to seeing the Extra Time Programme grow by building partnerships with other organisations to strengthen its impact, and maintaining high-quality delivery, in order to continue supporting the development of the children who take part.
