Name

Shaun MacDonald

Job Role

Football For All Project Worker

Length of time you have worked at MitC

8 Years

What are your main responsibilities

To deliver the Football for All programmes while also supporting the coordination of football classes and the organisation of the football camp, ensuring that each activity runs smoothly and offers a positive experience for all participants.

What does a typical week look like for you

In the mornings, time will be spent planning upcoming sessions and updating data from previous classes. During the school day, the role involves visiting nurseries, primary schools, and high schools to deliver football sessions. After school, the focus shifts to running community classes, with additional sessions taking place at weekends. Any spare time will be used to think of new ideas and explore ways to further improve and develop the programmes

What are the best bits of working at MitC

It’s about making a positive impact on people’s lives, helping to make things better for them by ensuring they leave with a smile and a sense of enjoyment. At the same time, it’s about doing something you truly love, while working alongside a supportive team where everyone is in it together, striving to make the programmes grow stronger, bigger, and even better.

What has been your biggest success in your role so far

Remaining an active part of the community and continue playing a key role in making sure that every session I deliver leaves a positive impact. Also, building lasting connections so that when I’m out and about, parents and children remember who I am, recognising the difference I’ve made and the role I play in their football journey and wider community.

What are you looking forward to over the next 12 months

To continue growing our numbers, making them bigger and stronger each year, and to help Morton in the Community become even better and more successful. I also want to keep on building on the progress already made, creating more opportunities for people to get involved, and ensuring the organisation keeps moving forward in a positive way.
