Job Role
Digital Marketing Executive
Length of time you have worked at MitC
3 Years
What are your main responsibilities
My main responsibilities include managing and overseeing all of the charity’s social media platforms, developing and implementing effective marketing plans, and delivering campaigns that drive participation in our programmes to generate income. I work to highlight the positive impact our programmes have on those who take part, showcase the outstanding work carried out by our staff on a daily basis, and grow the charity’s visibility and engagement across digital channels. This involves a wide range of digital marketing activities, including social media management, paid advertising, email marketing, content creation, and performance analysis to ensure our campaigns are effective and continuously improving. In addition to marketing duties, I am responsible for setting up and maintaining all of our classes and camps on our booking platforms, as well as arranging and booking weekend pitches for our teams on a weekly basis.
What does a typical week look like for you
I usually start my week by checking which projects and programmes are running and deciding what needs to be done first. I like to plan ahead for the content I’ll need for each programme, as I cover all 25 of our projects. I also check the progress of each marketing plan and work based on where I am with each one. During the week, I go out to programmes to get content, take interviews, and gather stories. I then work from Cappielow to edit and post the content. I like being able to work from home one or two days a week, and sometimes from a coffee shop, as it gives me a change of environment. I also take care of admin tasks like booking weekend pitches for teams and setting up classes on our booking platforms. My week usually ends with planning and scheduling posts for the weekend using Sendible, so I don’t have to be online during the weekend to post them. This routine helps me stay organised and make sure all programmes get the attention they need.
What are the best bits of working at MitC
As a big Morton fan, working in and around the stadium is something I sometimes take for granted. But when I step back and think about it, I realise what a privilege it is to be part of this environment and contribute to something that means so much to the community. I really enjoy the relationships we have in the office, everyone works hard, supports each other, and still finds time to have a laugh, which makes the workplace enjoyable and motivating. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is creating content that shows the real impact our programmes have on people’s lives. Whether it’s highlighting the progress and good news stories of participants, celebrating the achievements of the organisations, or sharing stories from the community, I love being able to capture and share these moments. It also allows me to make sure the hard work of my colleagues doesn’t go unnoticed, giving them recognition for everything they do behind the scenes.
What has been your biggest success in your role so far
One of the biggest achievements in my role so far has been creating Morton Changed My Life. It was a strong way to show the real impact of our programmes on the community, while also helping me improve my video editing and storytelling skills. I’m also proud of completing my apprenticeship and moving from Marketing Assistant to Data and Impact Coordinator, and now to Digital Marketing Executive. This progression has been very rewarding personally and shows the growth I’ve made in my career. In addition, creating and managing the newsletter, along with producing and editing videos over time, are accomplishments I’m proud of. These projects have helped me develop my skills and make sure the work of the organisation and my colleagues is shared effectively. I’m excited to continue building on these achievements and improving the content I create in my current role.
What are you looking forward to over the next 12 months
I am excited to begin my new role as Digital Marketing Executive, which I officially started on 1st August. This position gives me a clear focus on marketing and allows me to help strengthen the organisation’s presence across social media, email, and other digital platforms. I look forward to creating content, sharing information about our programmes, and ensuring our work reaches the right audiences. I am also looking forward to being part of the organisation’s growth and working with my colleagues to support our programmes and activities. On a personal level, I want to continue growing as an employee, take on more responsibilities, and develop new skills. This role gives me the opportunity to improve both professionally and personally while contributing to the organisation and the community we serve.
