Over the last 12 months, Together Equality Achieves More (T.E.A.M) project has made a meaningful difference in the lives of 278 individuals, delivering vital support across 5 funded trusts and foundations in Scotland.
Working in partnership, Big Hearts Community Trust, Falkirk Foundation, Morton FC in the Community, Motherwell FC Community Trust and St Mirren Charitable Foundation are proud to demonstrate the extensive reach of the equalities work which has been tailored to children, young people and family requirements in each of our local communities.
UEFA Team project is a two-hour a week initiative that supports mental and physical health through a balanced approach. Each session includes one hour of wellbeing activities such as mindfulness and creative expression followed by one hour of physical activity, including fitness exercises such as Football and Basketball and other multi-sports activities. The project aims to encourage new friendships and social connections, helps participants forge stronger ties with their community, improves physical health, and boosts both confidence and overall well-being. The programme has run for 30 weeks, with over 118 participations in total, including 102 boys and 16 girls, and 21 unique participants who have been attending since the block began.
Brian McLaughlin, CEO of Morton in the Community said: ““This funding is vital to our continued commitment to improving our community and supporting those who need it most. We’re proud to deliver this project alongside our counterparts across Scotland, demonstrating the powerful and positive impact football continues to have in communities throughout the country.”
The UEFA Foundation for Children has once again selected T.E.A.M as one of 72 impactful projects to receive funding, Carine N'koué, General Secretary of the foundation, said:
“I am very pleased to announce that our board members have decided to support 72 projects through the Foundation in 2025. We all know how powerful sport and especially football can be. Those projects use that incredible power to impact the lives of countless children around the world for a better life.”
We thank the UEFA Foundation for Children for their continued support, allowing us to provide a brighter future for young people in Scotland.
